A Letter To My Daughters Before The Birth Of Our Son

To my girls,

My wonderful, kindhearted girls.

In 6 weeks time we’ll be welcoming your little brother into our world. Our world that (much to daddy’s dismay) has been full of glitter, tulle & sparkle for as long as we’ve known it. Soon there will be another pair of toes toddling around the house, another seat full at the breakfast table and another little head to put to sleep in the evening.
Your daddy and I have kept you both as involved as we possibly could throughout the past 9 months and it’s been so lovely seeing how excited you both are about meeting your “first ever little brother” (as you like to call him), too.
I love the way you both seem to have an idea of what colour eyes and hair he will have and what his favourite toy will be. You both already discuss who will be cuddling him first and who will be helping mummy and daddy change his ‘yucky nappies’ (I love how you put forward each others names for this one…) As much as you make us laugh, we can’t wait to see you both as big sisters. & finally see all three of you together.

You’ve both been a complete dream to raise so far and the way you’re each others best friends has made everything so much easier for us!

Niamh; your confidence and exceptionally good social skills have pulled me out of some dark places as a first time mother & your energy and happiness can only be described as ‘contagious.’
Belle; your smile has this wonderful way of brightening up anyones day and your quick witted sass never fails to make people laugh. Your kindness love for others is nothing short of beautiful.

We are SO proud of you both!

My one wish for you is to always know just how loved you are & always will be.
There may be times when mummy can’t sit on the floor and tickle you, or chase you round the garden like we normally do. But I promise I’ll try my best not to let anything change too much.

We’ve been blessed with three precious little souls and I am so excited to watch you all grow.
Love you always

Mama x

What a lovely letter to write to your girls. It can be such as big change for children when a new sibling arrives. When we had our second born we did the same as you and wrote a letter to our eldest. He couldn’t wait to meet his brother and they are both so close. I bet your girls can’t wait to meet their brother, it will be amazing seeing all three of them together I am sure.
